i'm very happy to say that after 2 years of working as a hostess at a restaurant where i strongly disagreed with how the management team ran things, i got a new job at a place that already pays me more than minimum wage from the get go, has better benefits, better hours for students (like me), and a manager who doesn't believe in "favoritism" - playing favorites with the employees and only giving the ones who they like growth opportunities within the company INSTEAD OF recognizing those who work hard and actually deserve the attention and the opportunities for growth in the company that are available.
i don't feel that it's right to drop names, but i'll just say that the company i used to work for specialized in buffalo wings and 14 different sauces (with 4 special seasonings just added to the menu), and had a buffalo with wings as their logo ... if you don't know, just google it ;p
other than getting a new job, i guess i could say that in 2 days me, my boyfriend, and his best friend are going to las vegas for a 4 night stay at Planet Hollywood (well, 1 night at Imperial Palace, and the other 3 at PH). you probably would expect me to be super excited, but considering the fact that this will be my 4th time visiting las vegas within the last 2 years ... i'm just happy to get away from home for a bit before school starts :]
we originally were supposed to take a road trip with 2 other friends to L.A. for a day, then drive to las vegas for the remainder of the trip, but because of job commitments our 2 friends decided not to go. luckily my boyfriend had points racked up from previous gambling at the casinos so we got free stay at planet hollywood. the only thing we had to pay for were plane tickets and 1 night stay at imperial palace. (we originally booked PH from wed-sat but my boyfriend wanted to get there a day early ... hence the cheap stay at IP for 1 night. hahaha ... what?! we're asian, we gotta use the discounts and save the moola for other important things, like food and shopping ... muahahaha! just playin' ;p)
random note: for those who haven't heard the "bed intruder song" or watched the news clip of "antoine dodson", make sure to check it out! i remember first seeing the news clip on Tao's blog - "iamgrape119" ... oh. my. gravy! you will get that song stuck in your head playing on repeat for daaaaaaays ;p antoine is so funny, and it's even funnier to me because in the news clip he was being totally serious, but because of how he talked he became a celebrity overnight.

these guys are hilarious! too bad miss philippines didn't win. many say and believe (including myself) that if only she showed a little more humility in her answer during the top 5 Q&A she definitely would've taken the crown. i mean, c'mon now! she had 30 seconds to talk and all she did was give a 1 sentence answer ... >.< ay nako.
