Posted: 17 Aug 2010 08:37 PM PDT First, Brett Favre was coming back. Then, Brett Favre retired yet again. Now? To the surprise of few, Brett Favre appears to be coming back to the Minnesota Vikings … officially this time. And, no, it’s not a coincidence that he’s coming back at almost the exact same time he did last season. By being a drama queen, Favre was able to avoid training camp altogether. Ryan Longwell, the kicker for the Vikings, told ESPN in a text message that Favre is indeed returning. While Favre may pull another drama queen move or two before he joins the team, expect him to report within the next week to ten days. To get ready for the regular season, Favre will play in a few preseason games. He’s turning 41 in October so a limited work load at this point of the year makes sense. The goal for Minnesota is to keep him healthy for the 16 regular season games and a run in the postseason. Next year, Favre will probably be doing the same drama queen antics. Don’t be one of the few who still fall for it. Post from: EveryJoe

Video: Stratos-Fear Basketball Shot Posted: 17 Aug 2010 08:18 PM PDT On YouTube, you can find plenty of amazing basketball trick shots. This one, however, is one of the best trick shots I’ve ever seen. In Birmingham, Alabama at Alabama Adventure, the trick shot group “The Legendary Shots” made a basket from the Stratos-Fear ride. Watch the full video below and be sure to check out both angles to really get an idea of how amazing a shot it really was. The first attempt in the video was a miss. But the second trick shot attempt was nothing but net! Understandably, the guy who made the shot was enthusiastic about his conquest. The basketball trick shot video from the Stratos-Fear ride is already popular. In just a few days, it had more than a half million hits off on YouTube. Here’s the Stratos-Fear trick shot video: Post from: EveryJoe

Ke$ha Takes a Walk on the Wild Side Posted: 17 Aug 2010 08:13 PM PDT Kesha (Ke$ha) is a little eccentric, but today she turned it up a notch. As she was running errands in NY, the 23-year-old Tik Tok singer wore an unusual tiger head mask. I’m sure that it wasn’t to hide from paparazzi – after all, something like this was just attracting more attention. Maybe it was an odd attempt to promote her debut album – Animal. Ke$ha is currently touring as the opening act on Rihanna's "Last Girl On Earth" tour. However the tour is coming to a close soon. Post from: EveryJoe

Video: Tyreke Evans Golf Swing Posted: 17 Aug 2010 11:24 AM PDT Tyreke Evans has been featured in a lot of videos lately. There’s good: a Tyreke Evans highlight mix of his Rookie of the Year campaign. There’s bad: a video featuring Tyreke Evans speeding down the highway at speeds topping 120 miles per hour. Now there’s the funny: Tyreke Evans attempting to play golf. To put it mildly, Tyreke needs a little bit of help swinging a golf club. There’s really no describing it. If you’ve ever played golf in your life, you may literally vomit at the sight of Tyreke’s swing. Charles Barkley has a bad swing … but I’d actually give the edge to Tyreke in a battle of the worst of the worst. The good news for Tyreke is that he’s young and still could improve. But it’s safe to say that basketball — and not golf — is the sport for Tyreke Evans. Here’s the video of Tyreke Evans and his golf swing: Post from: EveryJoe

Instant Karma: Francisco Rodriguez Injured Posted: 16 Aug 2010 08:57 PM PDT Last week, we reported how New York Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez assaulted his father-in-law. Well, karma didn’t take time to do her magic. After serving a suspension, Rodriguez returned to the team … only to find that he had suffered a torn thumb ligament on his pitching hand during the assault. Rodriguez needs surgery and will miss the rest of the season. It’s difficult to feel too sorry for Rodriguez. Maybe the next time he thinks about solving an issue with his fists, he’ll have second thoughts. The Mets may attempt to void the rest of his contract for this season. Rodriguez is set to make $11.5 this year. Over the next two seasons, he could make as much as $29 million, however that money may be in jeopardy depending on how he heals from the torn thumb ligament. A thumb, as you would guess, is an important body part for a pitcher. New York probably isn’t shedding tears. At 59-59, their season is basically over. Rodriguez’s actions allows the team to save some money and take a look at some other relief pitchers as potential closers. Post from: EveryJoe

Video: Eli Manning's Bloody Face Posted: 16 Aug 2010 08:20 PM PDT The NFL is a mean game … even in the preseason. Eli Manning got a reminder on Monday night when his New York Giants took on the New York Jets. Following a hit by Calvin Pace, Manning’s helmet flew off. When he got back to his feet, there was blood streaming down his face. You can see Eli Manning’s bloody face in the video below. Manning needed 12 stitches to close the three-inch gash on his face. The good news for Manning and the Giants is that the quarterback didn’t suffer a concussion and the injury is considered to be mild. “I’ll be back as soon as I can,” explained Manning in a statement. “It’s really not an injury. Nothing serious. I really feel like I could go back out and play right now if I had to.” Even with Manning sent home early, the Giants beat the Jets by a final score of 31-16. Backup quarterback Jim Sorgi starred for the Giants, finishing with 146 passing yards and two touchdown passes. The next time the Giants take the field, expect Manning to be ready to go. Said Manning: “I feel fine. I feel normal.” … and that sound you here is Giants Nation exhaling. Post from: EveryJoe
