i love etsy. it's such a simple, yet brilliant idea: create a marketplace for handmade goods. and so in this online marketplace, i came across a fabulous designer: emily ryan.
ryan is a designer out of portland, oregon. her aesthetic is modern and sculptural. i love the volume of this dress. it is so fun & whimical.
ryan's designs that explore texture and shape. she works mainly in jerseys, so while her designs are artistic, they maintain a comfortable and cozy character. the drape of this tunic is to die for and how fun are the bat-wings...
miss ryan also discusses how she is continually inspired by 1920's couture, science fiction, and japanese fashions. the origami on this dress is just brilliant.
i might need this tunic/smock. it's lovely. the proportions are perfect and it has this completely causal elegance about it.
i think that i might start a collection of coat dresses. they are the perfect fall attire. and this one is made of sweatshirt material... perfect!
cheers for etsy finds,
