Happy Family

Today was Origami day! There was a little free workshop at the local library aimed at kids of course, but I seemed to enjoy myself just fine ;) Whilst my daughter happily talked to herself about the lovely patterned paper (oh, was I supposed to be listening?), I managed to learn a few things. Like, how to make paper penguins! What with her party coming up on Saturday I thought I'd make a little flock of these guys to pop into the party bags once home.

It's only wrapping paper I've used and cut by hand (so it's not perfectly square). Tempting as it was to nip upstairs to get my paper cutter, the little one was asleep and I was too impatient to wait. Y'know how crafting is. You just have to do it. There and then! These guys were so easy to make and I think I'll let her stick googly eyes on them to give them a little extra '4 yr old' appeal.

And the tatty wall in the back of the photo is the dining room. Whether I'm very brave/brilliant/incredibly stupid or a combination I'm not sure, but I'm going to let my kids decorate it for the party. With actual paint. Results to follow!
