Great Price Altec Lansing IMT702 inMotion MAX for $71.36

Altec Lansing inMotion Max IMT702 Speaker System for iPod and iPhone (Black) Review

I purchased this unit based on the reviews that I read. I was somewhat concerned with some of the lower ratings that it received, but thought that I would take a chance because of the discount offered. To date (I have had the unit for about a month), I am not dissapointed. The sound quality is good (not great), and it seems well built. I have it plugged in on my kitchen counter, so I have not had the opportunity to test the battery life. It fills my large county kitchen with all the sound that I need, and even at higher volume levels (pandora radio), I detect minimal if any distortion. I like the cubby storage area in back for the remote. My only complaint with the FM radio is that the wire antenna needs to be constantly adjusted when changing radio stations (I'm nitpicking here). The ipod docking connector takes a little getting used to; it's a tight fit and a bit flimsy, so you need to be careful when attaching. Overall, it's a good unit for the money.

A little disappointed in sound quality and volume - Un Veterano -
I was hoping for something with a little more "OOMPH" in the volume. Once in a while I like to jack up the sound, especially for certain songs. This does not deliver enough volume to satisfy. I'm not wholly dissatisfied with my purchase but that is because I only paid about dollars for this unit. If I'd paid much more that that I would have certainly sent the unit back for a refund.

One major drawback of this portable stereo system is the LACK of an equalizer. There is no excuse for the absence of that feature. The touch sensitive controls on the top of the unit are of really poor quality and almost impossible to see with the naked eye. Oh, and a handle, would it have killed to install some sort of a carry handle?

I would not recommend this stereo system to anyone unless the price was below about or .

Don't waste your money... - Seeker - SoCal, USA
I was very excited about this product when I got it. It charged my iPod, had great sound quality, was very portable with good battery life, and got great reception with the radio. Unfortunately, like many prior reviews had warned (for both this product and other Altec Lansing devices), it stopped working after about 6 months. I can honestly say that I would never buy another Altec Lansing product. If sound quality is important to you, spend the extra money and get the Bose system; you won't be disappointed. If it's not, than go with any of a number of cheaper alternatives that will give you better life than Altec.

Great product! - Jimmy Womack - Little Rock, AR USA
I was a little concerned about paying so much for a portable system to play music from my Ipod on but this system is great. It is easy to use, sounds great for its size and small enought to put just about anywhere. We haven't used the battery function much but it says it will last for quite some time when fully charged. We like the fact that it not only charges the Ipod while docked but all you have to do is turn off the system and the Ipod is turned off too. I highly recommend this for a portable system!Altec Lansing inMotion Max IMT702 Speaker System for iPod and iPhone (Black)
